Charles G. Knight, CPA, CVA, CFF is a founding partner and the managing principal of Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C. Chuck specializes in financial reporting services and provides consulting for internal control and cost-accounting systems.

Since the firm's inception, Chuck was the principal in charge of the accounting and auditing services. On November 3, 2008, the firm named him managing principal, succeeding Jim Schaffner, who served as managing principal since 1995.

A graduate of McDowell High School, Chuck earned his B.S. degree in Accounting from Gannon University. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1984 and a Certified Valuation Analyst in 1999. In 2008, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants awarded Chuck with the credential of Certified in Financial Forensics.

In addition to working several years in private industry as a controller, Chuck has more than 20 years of experience in public practice.

Prior to founding Schaffner, Knight, Minnaugh & Company, P.C. with the other firm principals, Chuck was associated with a "Big 4" international accounting firm. He was the senior manager of the accounting and auditing department. Chuck has provided audit, accounting and financial reporting services to large, publicly traded companies in addition to small and mid-sized, privately held owner-operated businesses.

Professionally, Chuck is a member of the American Institute and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He is an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Chuck volunteers his time as the treasurer of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Mercyhurst College. He is also a member of the Greater Erie Industrial Development Corporation Board of Directors.
